Tiny (but lovable) pool rescue from last Spring. Would love to know which weevil this... I have more images if necessary for an ID. Thanks!

Surrounding habitat is chaparral and mixed oak woodland.

btw, the non-geniculate antennae immediately rule out curculionids

 
Important lesson...
I almost didn't use that term because I knew there was a chance that it could be some other group within Curculionoidea. (Next time I will choose my words with more caution.) Thanks for the valuable information -- I will add it to my ever-growing knowledge of these fabulous little beasties!
