Chironomidae? - Male
Tilden Regional Park, Contra Costa County, California, USA

Adding a second photo, with more detail. While the upwardly curled tip of the abdomen was a dark brown, the anterior 3/4's was a translucent-cream color. (Could it be a teneral male resting/drying after recent emergence?)

Moved
Moved from Chironominae. A dorsal view of the tip of the tail would help, if you have one. These are IDed largely based on male genitalia.

Thanks John
I perused some of the Chironominae images on BugGuide, and can appreciate your comment. Unfortunately, I don't have any substantially more detailed images of the tip of the tail. But now I know better what to try to capture in the future :-)
