These whitish millipeds are a
These whitish millipeds are all juveniles/immature xystodesmidae, and from Mendocino Co., they have to be Harpaphe haydeniana. Juveniles typically lack pigmentation because their stages are too transient to justify metabolic investment in developing pigment, only to molt again and lose it. Rowland Shelley

Thanks for the information! I've been seeing white millipedes like this my entire life and always wondered what they are... These juveniles seem to be extremely common, but I've only seen fully-colored adults maybe five or six times in my life.
