Noctuoidea Moth? - Zale lunata

Noctuoidea Moth? - Zale lunata
Huntsville, Walker County, Texas, USA
December 31, 1969
Size: 2-1/2 to 3 inch wingspan
This guy was hanging on our screen. I think he's an Owlet moth, species Noctuoidea (sp?), but I'm not sure. Any help in ID'ing him would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
