Darkling Beetle -
Eleodes
Bend, Deschutes County, Oregon, USA
July 7, 2009
Size: 5/8"
I call this one "Lumpy" because of the texture of the carapace. Found alongside the house.

A guess to pass the time
until a real expert comes along. Might it be a Tenebrionid of some kind? Perhaps something close to this?
