Moved
Moved from Tetracha affinis angustata.

Following the most recent revision of the genus (Naviaux 2007), the south Texas species is regarded as Tetracha impressa (= T. affinis of previous authors). True T. affinis and its subspecies angustata do not occur in the U.S.

Thanks for update.
I now see that Tetracha impressa with occurrence in TX is also listed in "A Treatise on the Western Hemisphere Caraboidea - Vol II" by Erwin & Pearson (2008). Those authors placed synonym "Megacephala impressa" Chevrolat with both the distinct listings T. affinis and T. impressa.

thanks for the update, Ted

Moved
Moved from Beetles.

Name clarification
is needed here. Subspecies Tetracha affinis angustata Chevrolat shown here is known in TX but the nominate form of Tetracha affinis occurs much further south. Some authorities prefer the full species status Tetracha angustata Chevrolat.
