My sister's garage fauna - Aphonopelma

My sister's garage fauna - Aphonopelma
Lake Havasu City, Mojave County, Arizona, USA
October 16, 2005
Size: Big.
Here's what my sister said on 10/17:
"...we are having a big storm, I went into the garage to check any flooding and was met with a rather large tarantula. Took me 45 min to get [it] out of the garage. It wanted to crawl up under my car. I am going to have great dreams tonight. Too bad [my husband] is away at the moment!"

As of 10/18:
"He is in the front yard now, more dead than alive. I don't believe that he survived the long prodding pole."

She doesn't much like spiders, either, I'm afraid. At least not in the house, and she counts the garage as part of the house...

Texas Tan
That's a male Texas Tan tarantula. They're all over the Havasu/Bullhead/Kingman area. :)

Male Aphonopelma?
It looks a lot like this entry: http://bugguide.net/node/view/34685
(complete with spurs!)
