Identification
sensu stricto adverb - in the narrow sense, added after a taxon to mean it is being used in the sense of the original author, or without taxa which may otherwise be associated with it (Wiktionary). Often abbreviated: s.s., s. str., sens. str. or sens. strict.
When used after a generic name, means the nominate subgenus, e.g. "Amara (s.str.) aenea" is just another way of saying, "Amara (Amara) aenea"
