beetle -
Epicauta puncticollis
Elkton, Douglas County, Oregon, USA
July 26, 2009
Size: approx 10mm
Based on the hairy head, etc., I'm wondering if this might be Epicauta puncticollis.

ID confirmed by John Pinto: E. puncticollis
his comment: "Only in parts of California could an
Epicauta
with this phenotype be something else."
