From my field notes: "Lots of little (but variable) copper- to tan-colored grasshoppers. In flight, dark or black wings with yellow leading and/or trailing edges."

. Your notes are right on (although these are pretty consistently large for a grasshopper). The black wings have yellow all around the outer edge.
