Remarks
Doug Yanega on species status and identification: "Of course, this all [his comments on several BG images. =v=] assumes that debilis and imbricornis are good species -- I don't know that anyone has done a serious evaluation of Prionus taxonomy (meaning a study that includes molecular characters), and I strongly suspect that the actual species boundaries are NOT going to match our present concepts. In particular, I would bet the farm that imbricornis is NOT one species, but a series of closely-related species. Conversely, if imbricornis IS all one species, then I'll bet that debilis is part of that same species." (Pers. comm., 11/19/09)
