November Bug - Podisus

November Bug - Podisus
Richard W. Dekorte Park, Bergen County, New Jersey, USA
November 21, 2009
Size: ~1cm
Not so many insects out and about here in the Northeast with winter approaching, so mostly I've been focusing on shooting birds, but I did spot this one bug scuttling across the sidewalk yesterday. Fortunately the Canon 300mm f/4L IS lens I was lugging to shoot birds did manage a couple of plausible shots. Perhaps a plant bug?

looks intriguing -- i wonder if it will turn out P. neglectus
on second thought, it's kinda look like Apateticus lineolatus... hmmm...

Moved from True Bugs.

from D.B. Thomas: "Could be neglectus or serieventris...
...Need to see the ventral spine."
