They are all over in Outer Banks!
They are especially common at night. Take a flash light and look around, and you will most likely find many. That is how I found
this
in Delaware.

Nice!
Yeah, this was in the middle of the day, and I think this little guy was the only one I actually saw. There were some impressive burrows on the beach though, so I know there were plenty around. Last February I was camping in the Everglades on a tiny little beach and the place was crawling with these in the middle of the night:
