A bit fuzzy but it was a hand held shot. Thought it was a bee of some kind when it was flying around me.

Totally black antennae; marking on tergite 2 reaching posterior margin at sides and meeting yellow of tergite 3; markings on tergite 4 separated...

Probably H. fasciatus
This is probably Helophilus fasciatus but I'm not sure it isn't one of the more northern species.
