Is this one that can't go pas
Is this one that can't go past the genus without more close examination? I see that there is a catchall "red adult" group for sympetrum

 
Legs and date
In New England S. vicinum is the only Meadowhawk still flying in late November. Probably true in the Midwest.

Also, S. vicinum has paler legs than the group of nearly-indistinguishable species.
