Aphid eggs on rose bush in December - Macrosiphum

Aphid eggs on rose bush in December - Macrosiphum
Willow Grove, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA
December 2, 2009
Size: Less than 1 mm.
These must be aphid eggs, on a rose bush. An adult was nearby; there were a few nymphs and probably adults further up the bush on the bud that is still hanging there.
Two days later the light colored eggs had turned dark.
They were found on the same rose bush that was heavily infested in May 2008; probably the same species.
