Confirm American Dog Tick? - Dermacentor

Confirm American Dog Tick? - Dermacentor
Lake Placid - Archbold Biological Station, Highlands County, Florida, USA
March 27, 2009
Size: roughly 5mm
There were no dogs anywhere close to this tick but I think this is an American Dog Tick. Can someone confirm or correct me if I am wrong? Thanks.

Moved from ID Request.

Dermacentor sp.
need view of spiracular plate to confirm species.

OK, Thanks.
I am not sure where the spiracular plate is found on a tick but all of the shots I was able to get had a similar dorsal view. I will move to genus, thank you.
