Xylotrechus aceris - Gall Making Maple Borer - Xylotrechus aceris
Blacksburg, Montgomery County, Virginia, USA

Size: 15mm
Found on my back porch, I've got several silver maple trees around back. ID'ed using Yanega's Northeastern Longhorned Beetles.

Nothing to do with this Beetle
Hey Crystal. The beetles I saw on the flowers by my porch today were surely some type of Lepturinae. I'll try and grab one for you if you want, should I see them again.

I found a website with a picture of one.

Thanks!
Thanks for the link! I should also have some info to add to the guide page on the species before I create one. I will move it to the genus page for now and sometime later I will create a guide page.

Longhorn Beetle
I can't seem to find any photos of Xylotrechus aceris on the internet. I am pretty sure you are correct on the genus and probably also correct on the species, but I need a link to confirm the correct ID in order to create a guide page. I would just move it to the page for genus Xylotrechus for now unless someone can confirmm the ID. For info on how to move images to the correct guide page see here.

Good job on the mount!
