Eucinetid in California - Euscaphurus spinipes

Eucinetid in California - Euscaphurus spinipes
Webb Canyon, ~2000 ft. elevation, Los Angeles County, California, USA
April 26, 2009
Size: ~ 3.8 mm
Another small beetle that I rescued from the pool last Spring... Again, I wish the photo quality was better and please ignore the little white dots (some kind of pool detritus). After reviewing the beetle families, I think this one belongs among the Plate-thigh Beetles (Eucinetidae), but I would appreciate expert confirmation. Thanks so much!

Surrounding habitat is chaparral and mixed oak woodland.
