Synonyms and other taxonomic changes
Heza Amyot & Serville, 1843
Acrocoris Hahn, 1835 (in part)
Explanation of Names
From Hebrew hez, goatee (Amyot & Serville, 1843).
Identification
Plica on the mesopleuron separates this genus from Rocconota and the Central and South American Ricolla. In H. similis the plica is small though still noticeable.
Range
The records for this species north of Mexico are few, scattered and unreliable, apparently because of the close resemblance of this bug to other harpactorines. Probably limited to the southwest.
