No idea,Id appreciated.Found under bark of rotting pine,appears black but
looks like a shiny bronze under flash.

ID confirmed: H. aereus
from Jim Dunford: "I checked with a Helops expert at the Smithsonian and he agrees it looks like H. aereus. This may be a southwestern-most record. He is currently describing a couple of new Helops from Florida--this genus apparently has some cryptic species still hiding amongst its congeners!"
