Excellent!
Wonderful to have these pinned down to genus. Thank you ever so much, Dr. Buck!

Wow! Very cool and makes perfect sense given the aphid-infested Oleander bushes encompassing the pool area. Despite my poor-quality photos, I'm pleased that they can at least serve as the first representative images for this tribe in CA. Thanks to =v= and Dr. Ascher for their help in obtaining an ID.

BTW, I'm not certain where this data was derived from, but the size range on the Info page for Pemphredoninae really needs to be emended. Currently, it states "body length 8-15 mm", but obviously many of the species are significantly smaller than that!

in fact, most are small and some minute

Maybe the 8-12mm crept in by accidently refering to
...aphid wasps in Tribe Psenini, and not Tribe Tribe Pemphredonini/Pemphredonina. I believe I have seen 12mm individuals in Psenini.

It should be noted that my very similar looking Pemphredonina specimen was also in the 4mm range, so I appreciate the usual Harsi attention to detail!

Pemphredonini
subtribe Pemphredonina

crabronid, but i can't tell you more --
...maybe you'll find it entertaining going thru dozens of pages looking for a match -- they are lovely macrocephali
