Adult Male - Lepthyphantes leprosus - Male
Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada
December 12, 2009
Size: BL = 3mm
Found in a basement closet, at the bottom of a wall where unfinished drywall meets a dusty, dry cement floor. The temperature (which I was measuring for other purposes at the time) was 7C (44.5F) - about 4 inches away on the other side of the wall, which was the outside of the house, the temperature was -35C (-31F). He had a small sheet web and ran very fast when I teased him out of the web for capture. This is a picture of the live spider.

ID is based on a match of the palp with the diagram in Guide d'identification des Araignees (Araneae) du Quebec by Paquin and Duperre, page 141.
