Conozoa rebellis - male

Conozoa rebellis - Male
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego County, California, USA
May 2, 2004
Size: BL 24 mm
We saw this grasshopper at Scissors Crossing/San Felipe on a sandy wash on a triple digit day. We've tentatively identified it as Conoza rebellis based on wing (which I will post) and the white lines on the sides of the head, pronotum and thorax. But the ID is very tentative. Any help will be much appreciated.

Conoza rebellis
Great! I was hoping this yellow-eyed grasshopper was C. rebellis! Thanks so much, David! We really enjoyed watching this guy on this hot day. It's the only time I ever saw a grasshopper "stilting."
