Wing venation excludes pteromalids in this case due to the short marginal, submarginal and stigmal veins. Large eyes, a convex mesonotum, an ant-like appearance, and their frequent association with coccoidea also indicates this group.

Not an ID,
just an observation. It looks a bit like a Pteromalid (Chalcidoidea)



I'll be interested to see what the wasp experts have to say.

 
That does look good, Ken.
I've seen and shot them before, but this one looks different to me. However, the Info page says there are 300 species, so I'll bet you're right.
