December Snout - Libytheana carinenta

December Snout - Libytheana carinenta
Desoto, Dallas County, Texas, USA
December 18, 2009
Adding image for a December data point. I was surprised to find this warming on a nail in our exterior brick wall. The temperature was 55 degrees after two weeks of fluctuating temperature changes (low 22, high 63). There were quite a few of these around in a warm November after a dry spell assuaged by soaking rains, but this is the only one I've seen in December. Guess it crawled out of its cranny to catch some rays!
