A huge "thank you" to everyone at BugGuide for helping to make this book possible!

wonderful
I would just like to let the other amateurs without a formal background in science know that this book is wonderful for amateurs, even for precocious kids. It is so well written, easy to understand and packed with info.

spent a day in bed with it; plan to spend another.

HAHA!
Is that an invitation? ;) (Couldn't think of anything witty to say at the moment, anyways.)

good!!!!
let's keep our witticism at gutterminds.org, shall we?
but seriously, guys -- the more i dig thru the book, the more i fall in love with it.
(again: show restraint! :))))))))

I love the book, as well.
I love the "fresh off the press" smell... and all the wondrous information contained in it! (That's restraint isn't it?) I went on a hunt for this so-called gutterminds.org, but it doesn't seem to exist. HP is already present, but I wonder if I should alert RH of this conversation? Hee, hee. ;)

YES, THAT'S RESTRAINT! MUCH APPRECIATED
made up the dot frikkin org, of course

A "must buy" for anyone serious about studying insects!
I just received my copy and (as others have already said) this is simply a fantastic book! Lots and lots of great-looking photos and really compelling accompanying text. A wonderful accomplishment by Charley and Noah (and also John Carlson who provided a fascinating chapter). Can't say enough good things about this book and sincerely hope that it will find a home in the libraries of many BugGuide contributors.

It's out and it's terrific!
I received my copy on Saturday and was absorbed for the rest of the weekend...and at nearly 600 pages, the book will keep me absorbed for many future weekends, weekdays, and weeknights! As we on BugGuide have pleasantly come to expect from our interactions with Charley, it is full of information and insights for deciphering the telltale signs of invertebrate activity (including their interactions with plants, a special interest for me). Great job, Charley, I do look forward to solving more entomo-botanical mysteries together!

YES!
