not A. texanus
most likely A. sericeus

Agapostemon texanum (Halictidae)
From the hind leg maculations, I conclude: male Agapostemon texanum
(although Mitchelll doesnt list it for IL). It should NOT be frassed.

Why did you frass all these
We have no images of Agapostemon from Illinois in the guide yet.

Frassed?
I'm not sure how they got here. I didn't move them. If the images aren't up to snuff I could send them without so much file compression.

If you have more detailed images
you can simply replace these with the new ones. Click on one of these. Click on the EDIT tab. Go down to where you pasted the image and paste the new one. Once you have replaced as many of these as you wish, TAG them all. Go to Agapostemon and click on Move Tagged Images and they should move from Frass to the right guide page. Nice addition to the guide!

Thanks for the coaching!

Halictid
Looks like a halictid of sorts. Perhaps something like this:.
Sawflies have abdomen broadly jouned to the thorax.

Male Agapostemon sp.
This is a male specimen of an Agapostemon species in the family Halictidae.

Thanks
Thanks to all. I had scanned all the pages for wasps and sawflies but never thought of bee. Next time . . .
