Size: 10+ mm
Gyponana
sp perhaps.
Caught on prairie cordgrass,
Spartina pectinata
, along with several other insects (Blissidae, Phalacridae).
Every single cordgrass seed was eaten, by something.

Probably just resting on the grass - this genus is not a grass feeder, and it certainly didn't chew up all the seeds, because it has no jaws.

Sometimes the obvious eludes me.
From the Phalacridid larvae/pupa I found inside other species of grass seed, they would be my guess (of the insects I collected on the cord grass). I need to collect earlier in the year to find larvae eating seed.
