Scymnine - Rhyzobius lophanthae

Scymnine - Rhyzobius lophanthae
Alameda County, California, USA
December 19, 2009
Size: ~0.05 in., 1.3 mm
Found while pruning Pittosporum, probably came from it.

Moved
Moved from Scymninae.

I've been on a Rhyzobius lophanthae mission today, and this little beetle fits perfectly, especially the shape of the pronotum, the metallic red-brown color, and the antennae, which are too long for Scymninae.
