Mormidea vs. Perillus - Mormidea lugens

Mormidea vs. Perillus - Mormidea lugens
Overland Park, Johnson County, Kansas, USA
August 3, 2009
Can't find definitive Mormidea lugens nymph pics. Wondering if that might be it. Also wondering if this reference pic tagged as Perillus might actually be Mormidea. The image it references looks a little bit different, but could be different instar too?

That whole string of images may be Mormidea
You can find a note from Eric on one where Eric makes the same suggestion. The images have been collecting there as images of the same creature, but that creature may very well be Mormidea. Maybe V will get some info on how to separate the nymphs of the two genera. Our guess is that they should all be moved to Mormidea.

Could it be
the offspring of your Mormidea lugens, perhaps? Take a look at this M. pama nymph:

There seems to be a general resemblance at any rate.

just found a real close looking pic tagged as Perillus
I'm wondering if it might actually be Mormidea?

That does look close...
but bug nymphs are tough. I think other, more expert, assistance might be required.
