Webb Canyon, ~2000 ft. elevation, Los Angeles County, California, USA

I'm pretty sure that I've correctly identified this beauty as being a member of the (apparently) rarely photographed
Eumastacidae family. As the North American representatives of this group are wingless, I'm not certain if this is an adult or juvenile. It posed for a couple of photos on a twig after being rescued from the pool, and then "sproinged" away to freedom. Any help in further identifying this fantastic-looking grasshopper would be great!
Surrounding habitat is chaparral and mixed oak woodland.
