Quabbin, Massachusetts, USA

Found it eating an oak leaf. It looked like a brown edge of the leaf.

Fantastic critter!
That's an excellent image Tom. Good work. I'm never going to catch up with you, you know. I'm still working on my first thousand images. I just don't have time to post, plus, I'm just all-around slow! Sometimes I'll spend 20 minutes tweaking an image and cleaning it up with clone stamp (in Photoshop), fall asleep at the computer, accidentally delete it and have to do it all over again -- stuff like that. Anyway, hats off to you and your voluminous postings of superb stuff.

Thanks Jim
I'll be slowing down a lot with the cold weather, and not too many older pictures left to post. So that extra time I'll have will be spent going back and writing info pages on my guide pages.
Right now I have plenty of time, so that's why I'm on here a lot.
I know I'll never find as many beetles as you've gotten, I'm a generallist, photographing anything that moves.

80% beetles
That's what I figure my photos consist of. Moths comprise the bulk of my other insects but only because they're such easy picking while I'm waiting for beetles to show up at my moth sheet/UV light setup, plus, I know other people enjoy having them.
Yes, I might have more beetle photos posted than you (and maybe not), but I suspect you've photographed more species, since I tend to post several views of each beetle, and if I take a better photo of that species at a later date, I'll post that too!
