Prob. C. tenuifascia
After rereading original descriptions and keys, I find that earlier authors all point out that
C. barnesii
typically has a gray face and vertex (top of the head) whereas the vertex (at least) is orange in typical
tenuifascia

Cisthene tenuifascia?
It is my understanding that
C. barnesii
is a moth expected only in the Texas Hill Country and westward across the Southwest. The Houston area would be ecologically and geographically out of range for that species, whereas the rather variable
tenuifascia
would be expected there. Except by range, a lack of an anal lobe on the HWs of males, and genitalic characters, I wouldn't know how to identify an out-of-range
barnesii
.
