Comment from Ed Riley in 2010: "[this species] should be associated with palm flowers. It could have been brought in by accident, or it could be on native Sabal sp. The image does not appear to be either of the two species I have recorded on native palms in the LRGV."

When I identified this species months ago, I did so in error. Ed Riley pointed out to all that this was a new species of Notolomus and he had specimens in addition to the photos to determine this.He had two new species from the region and named them #'s 1 and 2. You should check for the correct species to which this belongs, but it has not been described and has no valid specific name.
