Crowder Peas infested with eggs - Plodia interpunctella

Crowder Peas infested with eggs - Plodia interpunctella
Newport News, Virginia, USA
November 2, 2005
I'm not sure if these are beetle or moth eggs..my grandpa has several jars full of these dried crowder peas from his garden and recently we have observed tiny beetles, grub-like larvae, and moths crawling around in the jars (the jars have been sealed for over a month so they couldn't have entered from the outside). Some of the peas have eggs laid on the ouside of them, while others have tiny holes bored into them and have hundreds of eggs inside. It appears that almost every jar of seeds has been infested. The peas are approx 1 cm long to give an idea of scale. Can anyone identify the culprits? Any help with ID is appreciated!

Not eggs:-)
Hate to break this to you, but those are not eggs. Looks more like the frass left by the larva, only one of which develops per bean if I have my facts straight.

oops!
Wow, I thought for sure that they were eggs. Thanks for the correction.
