wasp - Trichopria

wasp - Trichopria
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
August 18, 2009
Size: slightly over 1mm
I have a number of photos of these wasps but still have not been able to get a really clear photo. They are so tiny. Perhaps this coming summer?? Is this in the Family Diapriidae? The best photo I have is a photo including an ant which quite overwhelms the wasp in size. Perhaps I'll post that photo, too. Frass if not suitable.

Diapriidae
Hi Guys,
Looks like Diapriidae: Diapriinae:Trichopria F
Was the Diapriid interacting with the ant? Thanks.
Hans

Diapriid
The ant and the wasp just happened to be collected at the same time in a sweep of vegetation but there was no interaction.

Thank you for the update!

i'm sure diapriid is correct; we'll get them expert-checked

I think so.
Wasp reminds me of a diapriid, too, but I'm not positive.
