Globular Springtail - Ptenothrix marmorata
Sudbury, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA

Size: 1.5mm
Found about 10 of these under a board. This one has a pattern on it's back, the other one I photographed is plain. I wonder if they're the same species, and the difference is gender.

Dicyrtomidae, Ptenothrix marmorata
Hi Tom. Forgot this image... In P. marmorata sometimes transversal pigment bands are formed, such as in this specimen.
