the proportions of the eyes and legs (ghost crab eyes are larger and the legs are much longer, chunkier claws) to the body and the habitat. Ghost crabs like the open beaches and back dunes on dry sand. Fiddlers usually have burrows in areas affected by tides over mud or muddy sand around low energy Spartina marshes or mangroves
