leaf beetle - Chrysolina

leaf beetle - Chrysolina
Lakewood, Jefferson County, Colorado, USA
June 2, 2007
I found some that were dark blue in color as well.

Moved
Both species are in CO, so for now it may be best to just place in species group.

Moved from Chrysolina.

O.K.- thanks for checking
..

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Chrysolina quadrigemina ?
The next nearest are on the east coast, so maybe I'm off a little :)

Do you have...
access to the catalogue by Riley et al (2003) so see what species are in CO? I don't have it handy at work now but can look later.

don't have + introduced maybe?
I don't have any literature like that. If you can check later, I'd really appreciate it. Also a thought. Apparently some of these have been introduced to new areas. I wonder if that's a possibility with CO?

introduced species
often go unchecked and readily spread or get moved around. I will check the CO data later tonight, just to see!

sounds great, thanks! + added the blue one too
Not sure if this helps, but I added the blue beetle as well. On the same plant as the green one.
