Gerard is indeed correct. This bumblebee mimic is a Laphria and probalby lata or grossa. They are a difficult pair and my be the same species. These are monster sized flies sometimes. I see a bit of orangish hair on the legs which is possible. But yellow hair there would be unusual for these species.

Yes!!
This is indeed a bumblebee mimic, and it is a Robber fly from the family Asilidae!
