I was shucking some dried beans we picked this fall, and found over a dozen of these tiny beetles in the process.

best guess, Dienerella filum (Aubé), a cosmopolitan sp.

yes!
confirmed as D. filum.
Using the new key from Chris Majka et al 2009, filum is easily recognized from others in the genus by the 2 segmented antennal club and the oval impression on the anterior of it's pronotum.
