Collected from slower section of stream; color in life was bluish grey; a gravid female- note the eggs (orange mass) that are carried by the female's "pouch" or marsupium

looks more like Crangonyx
This specimen appears to have short 3rd uropods (although it's a little hard to tell in this photo). Third uropods are longer in Gammarus. The short 3rd uropods, in addition to the general body form, make me thing this is actually Crangonycticae: Crangonyx.
