Fall Fund Drive

Huge larvae found!

I discovered this large(huge), white/clear, larvae in my house near my front door while it was open, and i'm really freaked out! it is about the size(length and width) of my pinky finger and it has a couple of legs on its front but not its back. its walks slowly like a caterpiller but doesn't look like it since its white/clear. it's face it black. Is it a termite Queen? I live in Southern California.

No threat to your house
Scarab beetles don't eat wood like termites, and prefer to live outside. They can be valuable scavengers, helping to clean up decaying matter. You have nothing to worry about!

Although it is late in the season, it is almost certainly a scarab larva, similar t the one pictured.
