Listrus motschulskii (Melyridae)
Check here from Harvard data base.

Amecocerus sp.
Based on Essig melyrid specimens, this seems to be Amecocerus sp.. There are two species at Essig that looked the same to me and were collected in my area, Amecocerus canescens and Amecocerus motschulskii. There were a couple of other Amecocerus species from elsewhere in California that looked the same too.

Also see White (1) page 213 for a drawing of Amecocerus sp..

Your Amecocerus picture
very nice picture and quit OK with your identification
but present name for them is Listrus, with all the former US Amecocerus. True Amecocerus are from Chile.

thanks Robert
You are right -- American Beetles has Listrus also. I've changed the genus.
