Great find! I'll be in Gulfpo
Great find! I'll be in Gulfport and Biloxi for a few days the first week of February and this gives me hope of finding some beetles. Any certain areas you know I should check out?

Hey Joshua, I found all under pine bark and 3 out of
4 found were near the top of a dead pine snag/dry bark and were
about 12-15' above ground.
1 more waiting for id if you get a chance, thanks johnny.

Moved from Metallic Wood-boring Beetles.Thanks Frank,wish
you an early spring.

Buprestis striata
This looks like Buprestis striata. This is a copper variant. They can have copper, metallic purple, or bright rainbow hues as in . I'm jealous you are out finding beetles now. Up here in Maine we will be buried in snow until April!
