heres one i never figured out - Petrophila confusalis
Wolf Creek, Josephine County, Oregon, USA
August 8, 2009
Size: small
im not sure who these moths are, i remember franticly going from moth to moth back then, and never comming to any sort of conclusion that pleased me.

Moved
Moved from Argyractini. Pretty typical Confusing Petrophila with its zigzag median white line on the FWs, speckled postmedian area with a few dark dots around the perimeter, and a thin dark line over the HW eyespots (just barely exposed here). This is the West Coast repreentative of the fulicalis-species group.

Moved
Moved from Acentropinae.

Moved
Moved from Moths.

Quite Possibly 4780 - Petrophila confusalis
.... I hope that's pleasing. If it isn't I may be in a state of despair. Please be pleased :-)

Petrophila?
Something that loves gasoline?

ahahahahahahahahah!
Petrolphila?
did you ever notice that horrid DQ ad where the teeth seperate from the lips? thats how i often feel with these critters. 2 doubles? 2 singles?

of course i am pleased..
did you say your new nick is Pattersonios confusalis? i know it felt like mine! (grin)

Well,
this is tough without it being spread. It's a Crambidae, possibly Chrysendeton or Petrophila species.
