Unknown Dragonfly - Sympetrum corruptum

Unknown Dragonfly - Sympetrum corruptum
Gilbert Riparian Preserve, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
January 8, 2010
Size: aroung 2 inch wingspan
The only dragonfly species seen in the area, although quite common. Rather small. Looks like a skimmer or meadowhawk of some sort.

Moved from ID Request.

I moved this to "Dragonflies" rather than genus because more people check the main dragonfly page than the individual genera, and you're more likely to get ID confirmation here.

possibly
maybe Sympetrum corruptum, variegated meadowhawk.
see

Sympetrum
