Sundew Plume Moth - Hodges#6098 - Buckleria parvulus

6098 - Sundew Plume Moth - Buckleria parvulus
I sent the photo to Debbie Matthews, Referee for Pterophoridae at Moth Photographers Group. In her response she states: "Congratulations to Carol - it's a new county record for the Sundew Plume Moth, Buckleria parvulus (Barnes & Lindsey). Here is a link to my publications which include an article in the Southern Lepidopterists' News. It includes a distribution map of all the previous county records. The abdomen is indeed distinctive [as I had suggested]. First look at lobes on the FW. Both with acute tips, no "tornus" or "termen" - that's the first clue for Megalorhipida, Dejongia, or Buckleria. There is no dark scale cluster on the hindwind third lobe in Buckleria but since we can't see the hindwing, the abdomen with the dark dorsal midline is the main key character."

I am sure glad that I posted this photo. And thank you for sending it to Debbie Matthews. I have been reading her article with much interest. Be sure to thank her for her nice response. I appreciate it.

Could someone create a page for this?
I was going to move this moth but there is not a page to move it to. Does anyone have time to create a page for it? Thanks very much

Click on "Forums"
at the top of the page. You'll find one called "Requests for Additional Guide Pages." You can post there. Include a link to your newly identified image, and someone should be able to create a page for you.

(I would do it myself, but it appears we will also need a genus page, and I'm not sure which tribe contains your genus.)

Thank you
Thanks so much for your help. I will do it.

Perhaps someone else will be able to tell you more.
