Size: approx. 3mm
I am wondering if anyone has seen this before or knows what it is. Found on pine needle.

Fairly positive that
This is an ootheca of Chorisoneura texensis. I've raised some last year and they glued exactly same looking oothecae on the walls of the container.

Not an ID, just an observation...
It resembles the object below, which is in the Guide as an unidentified cockroach ootheca (egg case).



Let's see if anyone else agrees--or perhaps has a better idea. :)

 
Definitely
And I have been unable to find out anything more specific, though I have tried. Somebody needs to collect one of these and see what kind of roaches come out. Evidently one of the smaller species.
